ABOUT CARMEN: Carmen López de Bastidas is the first Venezuelan woman to be certified as a Master Blender. For the past three decades, she has passionately developed the exquisite profiles of Ron Carúpano, overseeing the prestigious portfolio—both Commercial and Collection—of our Super Premium Venezuelan Rum.
By setting the tone, she has paved the way for women who wish to break into the world of rum. In her own words, being a Master Blender means “having the capacity, the taste, and the olfactory sensitivity, as well as the dedication to know how to blend different types of rums from different vintages, to create extraordinary products that elevate every occasion of your life.”
TASTING NOTES: It possesses a coppery amber color with golden and orange flashes. Delicate on the nose with aromas of candied fruits, moderate notes of oak, almonds, and a subtle touch of dark chocolate and coffee. It has a vigorous entry with a firm and balanced body. On the palate, its sweetness balances a slight salinity and a pleasant aftertaste that leaves a sensation of prolonged silkiness.
