The magic begins at Hacienda Altamira, located in the Sucre region within the historic city of Carúpano. Situated just 3.5 kilometers from the Caribbean coast, this geographical location grants our rums a distinct, irreplaceable character.

Surrounded by the Macarapana Valley, this unique ecosystem creates an exceptional microclimate where humidity and coastal salinity are trapped and concentrated, infusing our liquid with special, deeply rich notes.

This privileged terroir experiences sharp temperature contrasts—high temperatures during the day and cooler drops at night. This dynamic thermal variation accelerates the aging process threefold (3x), giving our rums an unmatched depth and complexity in a shorter span of time.

Rum mastery is a craft we have been perfecting generation after generation since 1762. However, our modern history is defined by a true pioneer.

For over three decades, Carmen López de Bastidas has served as our Master Blender, making history as the first female Master Blender in Venezuela. Over 30 years ago, she paved her own path in a male-dominated field, opening the gates for women across the country to pursue this beautiful craft and industry.

Today, Carmen is the visionary behind our unique, world-class blends. True to her legacy, she has trained a team of blenders who share her vision and heritage, ensuring that our uncompromising quality and uniqueness remain at their absolute best for generations to come.

To achieve our sophisticated flavor profiles, all our rums are aged exclusively in ex-bourbon American white oak barrels. Inside these casks, the liquid rests, breathes, and absorbs the rich wooden notes, smooth vanilla undertones, and character that can only be achieved through patient, expert aging.
